Success stories3

I am Arna Majhi coming from the interior villages of Dedhashuli, Kalahandi district. I have a large family and unemployed parents who struggle to provide us with basic amenities. We have to walk around 8km to reach the nearest health centre or school.  I had to stop my education at 8th standard in order to help my parents in the field. I had great desire learn something and find my foothold in the society. My father was addicted to alcohol and most his wages went in to pay for the same. It was at this time, the parish priest from Rampur Parish opened a way for me to join for the skill training in St. Joseph’s Seva Sadan Community College at Bhubaneswar.  I am happy that I took the right decision to join the program. I learned the skills of managing myself, taking up leadership roles, time management etc along with Industrial machine operation, computers and Spoken English.  Thank you for being a beacon hope and courage to me. Through the placement drive at the college I was selected to Best Corporation as a tailor. I earn about 10000/-per month. All this was possible only because of St. Joseph’s Seva Sadan Community College.
